An Apparatus Opportunity (Freelance IT work) - Deadline: 26 May 2020
The main IT aspects of publishing the bi-annual journal are:
- handling OJS (https://pkp.sfu.ca/ojs/,https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Journal_Systems)
- advantageous would be: experience with CMS
- digital typesetting, using čichold (the Transpect converter we work with)
- working with google-docs on editing and proofing submissions
- assembling of (translated) metadata
- registration of DOI
- Website management: Announcements, partnerships, other information
- image editing (photoshop)
- working with our Vimeo Channel: uploading and QC
- contributing to the strategy to develop future physical Open Access publications
- (digital) distribution
- managing content / schedules for submission, publication processing and publication
- plagiarism checking
We are looking for a reliable person with IT skills who wants to help shape our expanding publication activities in the digital realm - as part of the Open Access movement in Europe and beyond. You are good at meeting deadlines and very adroit at time management.
